About Me

My name is Sarah and I am a 31-year-old fitness and nutrition enthusiast. I have worked in the fitness industry for the last 6 years. I have also taken several nutrition classes at Arizona State and hope to someday become an R.D. I have a huge passion for healthy, ‘fit’ food and I am always looking for the next best thing! Wether it be discovering new products, creating new recipes or revamping old ones, I love the challenge of coming up with new meals to energize my workouts and keep my body fit!

I have an amazing boyfriend who supports me in all that I do! My most favorite time during the week is when we get to escape to the gym together to train! We both push one another to work harder and get stronger! Plus he makes an excellent guinea pig for my recipes 😉 We have been together for over 2 years and there isn’t any other person who could possibly fit me better! He is my balance!

I am an avid (marathon) runner and have recently taken up hot pilates and yoga! In my free time, besides cooking, working out and blogging, I like going to the movies,watching the Red Sox beat the Yankees (dreams…) and traveling. I am obsessed with The Food Network, feel most relaxed on the beaches of Cape Cod and love the smell of fall in New England.

I welcome you to follow me along in my adventures of ‘fit’ recipe creations and revamps. Hopefully some of the recipes can become part of your recipe box too!

      I love ASU! I was at the polytehcnic campus though, but never the less, it was a great time! Probably my most favorite state I have lived in…by far!

    • Hey Christina! I am so happy you discovered the site and are enjoying it! Coconut Manna is a coconut spread. It is TO DIE FOR!! If you love coconut, you will be in heaven! 🙂 As far as ‘packables for work’? What exactly were you thinking?
      I hope the red sox beat the yanks this weekend! I had tickets to tonights game at yankee stadium but we gave them away because I am in boston for a conference! hahah go figure!

        I love Boston so I’m a little jealous! 😉 I’m from Nashua, if you know where that is; but I’ve been relegated to Albuquerque for work. ;p I miss trees!

        Umm… I tried to define ‘packables’ to myself and realized that was a harder task than I thought! How about… anything that can be made ahead, and does not need to be heated in anything more than a microwave (we’re not allowed toaster ovens or anything else). Finger foods preferred in case they need to be eaten en route between meetings! (I’m going to make the baked egg whites on crust and feta meatballs this weekend… hopefully the p.b. granola bars too :)) Just a thought, don’t take it as a tasking! 😉 I have to say that I love how enthused you are about this and everything on your site looks soo yummy. !

        • Sorry! I totally responded to you the other night and then just realized it never went thru! So Sorry!
          I am excited to hear how your recipes turned out this weekend! As far as ‘packables’ are you referring to
          meals or snack type things? Sweet or savory? Almost all of the things I make are portable and can be made ahead
          of time and then warmed if necessary! I take almost all the things I make with me to the gym to eat before a workout!
          Yes, that even means things like those blueberry squares on my blog today!! A little tupperware and a fork do wonders!
          Let me know exactly what times of things (examples) you were thinking of!! 🙂

  4. I’m so glad I stumbled upon your website! I’ve always enjoyed working out and then I had 3 kids in the last 5 years, so I’m struggling to lose all the baby weight. I’m always looking for low calorie, yummy recipes that are filled with wholesome ingredients. I’m excited to try the granola bar recipe. My kids love granola bars and they’re great for on the go, but I hate buying the ones in the grocery store. They’re expensive and full of chemical ingredients! Also, I saw you went to Arizona State! I live Phoenix! Go Sun Devils lol!

    • Hey Jessica!! I am so happy you found my site as well! You will have to let me know what recipes you try! And i definitely agree that all the granola bars in the grocery store are full of junk!! It is so important to teach our kids how to eat healthy from a young age! I know you will do a good job of that and reach your weight goal at the same time!!

      And i did go to ASU! I love Arizona so much and would move back there in a heart beat! My sister still lives there, in Chandler. It is absolutely gorgeous there and I LOVE the heat! 🙂

  5. Have you been introduced to the NuWave? We love it. It’s a healthy alternative to frying, baking, broiling, it’s so awesome!!! It makes meat juicy and french fries crispy.

    • Yes! I have seen it on tv before. I do not own one though! Do you use yours often?

      • Almost every day! It makes the juiciest chicken and hamburgers, the crispiest fries and onion rings (vs. a baking that is) and it cooks FAST!

        • That sounds amazing! I am making a trip to target today, so I will have to check them out! My only issue right now is that I am limited on my kitchen storage space….I have baking products falling on my head when I open the cabinet doors! However, I am always willing to reorganize for a great product!

          • Yes that is the only pitfall is that it does take up some counter space. But you could put it on top of your stove? We rarely use the stove now. With only two of us, it works perfect. We made chicken breasts on it last night. And it roasts asparagus like SO GOOD. My counsins don’t even make hamburgers in the grill anymore they prefer the NuWave.

          • That’s amazing! I looked at Target on Friday and they didn’t have it, even though their website said that they carried it. Where did you purchase yours? I don’t like buying things off the internet unless I can’t find it anywhere else!

          • I got it for Christmas so I am not sure. I have seen them at Herbergers and Sears too. Call your local store and check there?
