Now, for the long awaited Brownie Batter Waffle Recipe! I posted a picture of this on instagram on Tuesday and the response was insane! Everyone wanted to know how to make those chocolate waffles I was eating! Well, as promised, I am giving you the recipe today! It is beyond simple, but does require that you have a waffle iron! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did….they just might have been eaten in 2.5 minutes flat! Woops! 😉

Fit Ingredients

  • Waffle Iron
  • Non Stick Spray

Directions

  1. In a bowl whisk your egg, coconut milk and vanilla.
  2. Mix in your protein powder.
  3. Spray your waffle iron with non stick spray.
  4. Set the iron over medium heat.
  5. Spoon 2 1/2 tbs of batter into each waffle section.
  6. Cook according to waffle maker directions. (Mine took about 3-4 minutes each)
  7. Be ready for your mouth to be in heaven!!

All I have to say is….WOW!! One bite and all I could think of was brownies!! My mouth and taste buds were loving me! I topped mine with some fresh raspberries and Saratoga White Chocolate Peanut Butter. And as always, I had some sweetened ricotta on the side! A big bowl! It was like whipped cream to my sundae! Feel free to top yours with whatever you choose! Although I do highly recommend the peanut butter because really, what is better than chocolate and peanut butter?

*This protein powder has the most amazing chocolate flavor! It is what gave these waffles that brownie flavor! Feel free to sub out another chocolate protein of your choice, but I warn you the flavor results (and texture) will definitely not be the same! 🙂

  3. Well, aren’t I just happy as a plum that I have 2 containers of Hemp protein now! They aren’t chocolate, but cocoa powder can fix that. Can’t wait to try this!! And might I add that I LOVE your pancake/waffle recipes to death!!! They’re always so delicious, and pack a serious protein/nutrient punch without a cray amount of calories which is perfect because then you can go nuts on toppings, and I love me some toppings! 😀

    • Haha! Thanks Joanne!! I am the same way! The toppings really are what livens them up!! Plus I have a small (or possible enormous) addiction to sweetened ricotta with my breakfast, so I like to make sure I can get that into my macros along with all the other fun stuff!! 🙂 And yes, hemp protein is AMAZING to cook with! It really is so different than whey or casein when baking! Plus the fiber in it is to die for!

    • It doesn’t necessarily need to be lower calorie (unless your goal is weight loss), but it definitely can be 100% healthier!!! What is your eating regiment like now?
